Eager reader of history, mystery, classics, biographies, steampunk, lit fic, science, scifi, and etc. My reviews are mostly positive--I rarely finish or write about books I don't enjoy. My TBR is too high for that.

Sisterhood Everlasting (Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Book 6)

Sisterhood Everlasting - Ann Brashares I read and enjoyed the earlier Sisterhood books so I was really looking forward to this sequel and catching up with Lena, Bee, Tibby and Carmen as adults, but this book was too sad for me, the flow of the narrative was too choppy, all the internal monologue made me feel like I was in an isolation booth and the characters I'd loved were each surprisingly unappealing and inexplicably and excessively emotionally damaged even before the tragedy. It was a hard book for me to finish. What I wanted was a light hearted, heartwarming book with just enough difficulty to make the happy ending mean something, but this is not that kind of a story. It may be just the right book though for someone looking for something else.
