Eager reader of history, mystery, classics, biographies, steampunk, lit fic, science, scifi, and etc. My reviews are mostly positive--I rarely finish or write about books I don't enjoy. My TBR is too high for that.
This book is quite good enough to keep me reading, and Fforde has very thoroughly imagined a culture based on color perception, but I don't love it the way I do his Thursday Next novels which, besides being funnier, are full of literary allusions, time travel and cloned Neanderthals, woolly mammoths and dodo birds. For me, his Nursery Crimes series rates somewhere between the two.
